Last Neko (under development): log 19/05/18


Hello, Franck here! I still have two weeks to show the world I can make a danmaku in three weeks time, and by working solo! Okay, first things first, here is the log with the last changes.

Please note! I won't show any pictures about levels 4, 5 and 6! I am just talking about these levels to say I am working on them!


You can watch the last video about Last Neko. Some changes have been done since I submitted this video, especially in the level 1 (the background!).


Visual.

  • Completely remade the background of level 1 (scroll down to see!).
  • Made the background of level 4.

Gameplay.

  • Boss 3 designed and done!
  • Made the level design of level 4. (The boss still has to come)
  • Added more types of enemies and their respective patterns.
  • Added a new type of bullet. You will be able to say hello during the level 4!
  • Lowered the amount of HP of the weakest enemy (from 200, down to 100).
  • Nerfed some enemies in level 3. Their bullets move slower and they have way less HPs.
  • You can now magnetize drops, if you're close enough to these.
  • You can magnetize every drop in game if you're on the upper side of the screen (at your own risks, but rewarding).
  • You can magnetize drops dropped from bosses from a taller distance than the ones coming from regular foes.
  • Made the canons way more invulnerable (there were a way to smash them, I fixed it)!

Misc.

  • Made a welcome screen. This screen is mute, and you will be able to see the introduction of skip to the main menu.
  • Made an introduction for the game! For every game needs a plot.
  • Changed the inputs.
    To shoot a bullet, use Z or W and not X anymore.
    To drop a bomb, use X and not C nymore.
  • Fixed a bug with the deceleration of a particular enemy and improved its deceleration.
  • Highly improved global performance.
  • Changed the cover screen on itch.




This is the level 1. The new background is way less better than the previous one.
